Workshops

Each evening at NYMA, students enter focused workshop tracks in Worship, Preaching, and Tech + Media—where spiritual formation meets real-world ministry responsibility. These workshops are not talent showcases; they are training grounds. Students learn that worship is surrender before it is sound, preaching is obedience before it is platform, and technology is stewardship before it is production. They are trained in biblical communication using structured hermeneutics, Spirit-led worship leadership, soundboard and livestream operations, and strategic digital engagement—all within the theological framework of the Church of the Nazarene. Every skill learned is immediately applied during the Evangelism Practical, where students lead live Saturday and Sunday services. The result is not performance, but formed leaders who understand that excellence, humility, and spiritual authority must work together for the Gospel to be carried well.

Worship

What Students Learn

  • Theology Before Talent – Students are formed to understand worship as surrender and obedience, not performance. Musical ability is developed, but heart posture comes first.

  • Spirit-Led Worship Leadership – Students learn prayerful song selection, team unity, and Holy Spirit dependence to create environments that prepare congregations to receive the Word.

  • From Rehearsal to Real Ministry – Each student serves in live worship settings during the Evangelism Practical, leading with humility, theological clarity, and pastoral awareness.
